People's Powerhouse Conference Communications Support


High-Rise provided all the communications support for the 2017 People's Powerhouse conference in Doncaster.

The Doncaster event attracted approximately 250 people from across the North, including local authorities, business networks, private sector organisations, housing associations and charities. The conference attracted a number of high profile speakers and panelists including Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, Helen Pidd, North of England Editor of The Guardian and Lord Victor Adebowale, Chief Executive of Turning Point to name just a few.

People's Powerhouse report launch at the House of Lords


We provided communications support for the launch of the 'Putting the People in the Powerhouse' People's Powerhouse report which was held at the House of Lords in December 2017. Attendees included Northern Powerhouse minister Jake Berry, Doncaster North MP Ed Miliband and Lord Victor Adebowale from Turning Point UK.

We bring our social value understanding to all the work we do. For example, for Laid Bare Theatre's production the Value of Nothing we were able to secure media coverage outside the mainstream arts and entertainment press by focusing on some of the strands in the play around universal credit and the stigmatisation of people on benefits.
