“Helen is one of very few communication professionals who you can trust to remain absolutely unflappable in a crisis. I can't recommend her skills highly enough.”

Helen founded High-Rise Communications in 2016, after several years in senior strategy and communications roles at the British Red Cross. She has over 20 years’ communications experience and is a fellow of the RSA and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Working at the Red Cross inspired Helen to set up an agency which specialised in supporting clients that help build happier and healthier communities, with clients including Transform Lives, the People’s Powerhouse, Laid Bare Theatre, Reach Volunteering, Hope Mill Theatre, the Modernist Society and Citizens Advice.

Luke has been working with High-Rise Communications since February 2017, and was the first intern that has been hired by High-Rise.

After completing a B.A. in English Language from the University of Manchester, Luke decided to stay on at the Alliance Manchester Business School to study an MSc in Corporate Communications and Reputation Management. This means that Luke has a good understanding of how the industry works – but is still open to learning the tips and tricks of the trade!

Says Luke: “Since starting at High-Rise I’ve definitely been given opportunities that I wouldn’t have got elsewhere, helping me gain valuable experience and insight. It’s really stretched my abilities much more than a regular communications internship would (i.e. making the teas)!”

Helen is a clear sighted and analytical communicator. She brings a sense of humour and a can do attitude to the work.

High-Rise Communications have been a great help to The Modernist Society. They have really helped us to increase our profile regionally and nationally, including for some very important projects which might have otherwise gone under the radar, like our Save UMIST campaign.
